La Bohème

This design uses a single poetic gesture to reflect the Bohemians’ emotional journeys. As the story unfolds, the painterly environment shifts from within and explodes into the outer world, suggesting the disintegration of idealized Parisian life. The staging resists realism, favoring metaphors to evoke love, longing and loss.
